Aziz Raza - his childhood was like a roller coaster. He grew up in orphanages (Munich and Mietraching - Germany) and even though everyone could see that he was artistically inclined, his calling was to be a brick layer.

He wish to become a singer almost fulfilled itself, when many years ago a well known German opera singer Peter Anders recognized this young man's singing talent. However, with the sudden death of the tenor Anders, Aziz was left out in the cold again. But the deciding point for his future life was yet to come.

From his mother's family circuit had involved a marvelous fine arts painter with the name of Prof. Herman Urban. The family had moved to Bad-Aibling after 1948 and Aziz got exposed at the age of 11 to all the wonderful art of his greatuncle Herman Urban, who had left a legacy of paintings in his estate. Aziz has spent two of his younger years from 9 to 11 in an american orphanage (IRO) and had fond memories of this time, even though the rest of the family had already established their lives in Bad-Aibling. Due to these circuumstances Aziz Raza never got meet Herman Urban personally, however, of what he left behind had an enormous influence on his artistic talents still waiting to be discovered.

He started to experiment his own methods, worked on many  new painting techniques, all recorded and released in a book. His method cannot be compared to that of Urbans as some art critics would like to point out. Aziz' painting technique is modern and revolutionary, a new generation and his passion recreated a totally new style in Encaustic.
